Jennifer Daniels-Lake lives on two acres of land with her family, where they grow their own food that they share with their burgeoning and diverse group of friends.

In life on the homestead, she grows food and relationships. And, in her professional life, she is cultivating spiritual nourishment and community in her role as Director of Engagement and Clergy Relations at Congregation Or Shalom in Vernon Hills.

When COVID-19 hit, Jennifer spearheaded the synagogue's B'yachad (Together) initiative, a program to support congregants and the local community during these uncertain times. Through the program, she has deployed more than 60 volunteers to help regularly check in on congregants and offer resources to those who are struggling.

Jennifer is multi-faceted. She is an activist, an artist, and a champion of literacy, justice, and equal rights. In everything she does, she believes her "Jewish faith is most elevated when I am pursuing values of tzedek-justice-and tikkun olam."
