Most can be described as right-brained or left-brained-and then there's Lauren Koenig. Logical and science-oriented, Lauren holds a Master's in Public Health in Epidemiology from The Ohio State University. Creative and people-oriented, Lauren is a relationship builder. She was just awarded "Advisor of the Year" for the BBYO Great Midwest Region.
Lauren's ability to see a human need and then tackle it with a laser-focus has enabled her to build Jewish communities. As a young adult, she recognized a lack of Jewish programming in the northwest suburbs and began a Facebook group for young Jews, planning regular meetups.
And she shared her ideas with other suburban-based young Jews on Oy!Chicago.
Lauren is also an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist, using Reiki to help sick friends and family with their physical and emotional healing.

HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK:
I give back to the community by sharing my enthusiastic attitude and passion for life in all that I do. Through BBYO, I support teens in the Chicagoland area by developing leaders and navigating teenage emotions. The JCC Engagers program is a wonderful way to network and share resources with nearby young Jews. My co-chair position in the CVS Health Women’s Success Network allows for the promotion of diversity and the capacity to provide valuable opportunities to nearby colleagues.
