Anna Freedman lives by the motto "presence, learning, justice." She prioritizes showing up, both for people in her community at Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel (ASBI) and for causes of social importance, such as the rights of working families and individuals.

Anna worked in the Work/Life & Family Resources office at Northwestern University where she coordinated a program on emergency financial support for employees in need as well as curricula on workplace and life skills.

At ASBI, Anna is the co-chair of the social action committee and strives to be a welcoming, validating presence for other women in prayer spaces where men and women are separate. She also supports others as an attendant at the Adam R. Strauss Memorial Mikvah.

To further heed her calling to help others, Anna is now pursuing a Master's in Social Work from Loyola University.

Create a grant program that would enable all synagogues in the Chicago area to fund renovations to make their spaces fully accessible.

CHICAGO'S JEWISH COMMUNITY IN 10 YEARS:
We'll finally have a full-service, kosher pizza restaurant in Lakeview. With gluten free and vegan options, obviously.
