Shimmy Meystel's involvement in giving back to his community includes a list that is longer than most lifetime resumes. His dedication to giving back is shown not only through his professional work, but through the work he does in his free time as well.
Shimmy started his own company to better the lives of dialysis patients. He revolutionized this field by making it possible to bring the dialysis process into the home, rather than having it outsourced.
While COVID-19 stopped most people in their tracks, Shimmy sprang into action to help aid people in the Orthodox community. He spearheaded the Chicago Jewish Emergency Assistance Fund, which raised and distributed over $1.3 million in a three-month span for people affected by COVID-19.
