As a rabbi and chaplain, Robert Friedman makes himself available to anyone who needs to talk through problems, overcome life challenges, and to receive support during crisis. With a passion for providing spiritual life and Jewish connection to people who might not find it in any other way, he is known for hosting services and holiday celebrations in some creative spaces.
He reaches out to those who might not think they have time to create their own spiritual practice, making Judaism real and accessible in all its complexity. He not only cares for community, he helps create it, meeting and embracing people wherever they are in their Jewish journeys.
A recent Chicago transplant, he has embraced Chicago and its North Shore suburbs as his new home and dedicates time to YLD and Mishkan programs along with his work as a chaplain.
