Share your story of standing up to hatred

Driving Out Hate photo

In a time of increased threats against Jewish institutions, synagogue and cemetery vandalism, and fear among many minority groups and marginalized peoples, we at Oy!Chicago wanted to highlight the bravery of those in our community who have faced or stood up to hatred by letting them share their stories in a special blog series, "Driving Out Hate."

Whether you experienced hatred first hand, stood up for someone else, started a movement or quietly made a difference -- we want to help you tell your story and share it to empower others and inspire hope.

To pitch your idea, send us a message with a paragraph description of what your piece would be about and by Thursday, April 13.

The only requirements are that the post should in some way relate to the theme, and that you are 21 or older. We will review your submission and let you know if we are interested in working with you and running your piece in the series, which will run the week of May 1-5.

Please note that Oy!Chicago is unable to offer compensation for our blog series submissions.

Thanks for your interest!

Stef & Steven
