Builder, creator, teacher, leader-- all words that could describe Aaron Tarragano.

An engineer by trade, Aaron is a natural leader who provides support, solutions, and community wherever it's needed. He sees a problem and helps to address it in any way he can. A Schamburg resident, he recognized the need for young Jewish engagement in the suburbs. Straight away, he started building community through hosting Shabbat dinners, creating a hiking group and assisting with setting up holiday programming through Jewish organizations.

When he's not busy creating community, you can find him using his 3-D printing skills to give back to the community. In addition to his Etsy shop that offers printed artwork for weddings and shops, he leads educational 3-D printing classes for children at Indian Trails Library. During the pandemic, Aaron used his skills to print face shields for healthcare workers across the country.

HOW YOU JEW IN CHICAGO:
I learn within my community by studying Judaic Values with my Rabbi and more recently my peers. I started a Judaic Values discussion group with my friends earlier this year in memory of my mom. She created so much love and kindness within our Jewish community and it was a great way to give back. Each session we read a passage from the Chofetz Chaim Loving Kindness book, then we discuss questions based on the main topic of the passage. We focus on how to incorporate performing acts of chesed in our daily lives.
