Amy Ravit Korin
Oy!
readers first met Interactive Amy back in 2010, when she was featured as a Jew You Should Know,
JDate guru and all around social media expert. Amy founded interactiveAmy Social Media Consulting in
2009, and her passion for social media and helping businesses succeed online is
evident in her job as Regional Community Management Lead for Google.
“Amy is an endless bundle of energy who is
always working to bring the community together in more ways than you can ever
imagine,” her husband Josh said. “I marvel every day at how Amy is able to
do it all and keep so many things moving forward simultaneously.”
He describes Amy as a connector, going out of
her way to help people find love, work or even new friends. Amy's job is to bring the community together,
which, Josh says, she was doing long before being employed by Google. Amy is
also a giver, who believes in the power of Tikkun
Olam, and has served on the board of Social Media Club Chicago, Social
Media Week Advisory Board and Steppenwolf Theatre Auxiliary Council.
She
is that girl who knows everyone and loves all things Chicago. She and Josh live
in the city with their two pet turtles, North and Wells, and together travel
the country attending Phish shows.

How do you Jew in Chicago?
By bringing people together: I have one Jewish wedding under my belt, I
love helping people pimp out their JDate profiles, and I am an avid hoster of
holiday meals.
By
sharing what I know: I've been featured on Oy!Chicago as a Jew You Should Know,
(sharing JDate profile tips), spoken on panels at the JVS/JUF Career Fair, and
helped Jewish Vocational Services with their online marketing.
Passions:
I am a professional networker, but it doesn't feel like work since I
love meeting new people. I love road tripping, going to concerts and spending
time with my friends and my family. And when I have time chill and watch TV, you'll
find my DVR full of Beverly Hills, 90210, Law & Order: SVU and Dateline.
How do you give back?
Through my work at Google, I work with many non-profit organizations and
community groups teaching them about online marketing and ways to get involved
in the Chicago community. I serve on the Advisory Board for Social Media Week
and I also contribute to causes that are important to my friends and family, supporting
races, fundraising efforts and volunteering my time when I can.
Fill in the blank: If time and money were limitless, I would:
Find a cure for cancer, pay off my student loans and my mortgage, ensure
that my family is forever taken care of, donate a lot, save some and take one
heck of a trip!
Chicago's Jewish community in 10 years:
Will be thriving even more so than it is today. I would love to see a vibrant, diverse and healthy
community dedicated to the values of Tikkun
Olam.
Me in 10 years:
I'll still be in Chicago (city not the suburbs!), networking up a storm,
doing work that I love and giving back to the community. Hopefully my family will have expanded beyond
my husband and our two pet turtles (North & Wells) and will also include
kids and a goldendoodle.
