Andrea Fischlowitz

When Andrea Fischlowitz moved to Chicago from her hometown in Florida, she set out as a family nurse practitioner in search of a job where she could help the most vulnerable populations of the city. She found her fit at Cook County Health and Hospital System, where she became a care provider for underprivileged women. 

Earlier this year, Andrea was promoted to run the Family Planning Clinic, where she goes above and beyond what's written in her job description to care for patients: She has streamlined patient care to help more people and implemented new processes to reduce the rate of sexually transmitted diseases among the highest-risk communities in Chicago.

As her husband and biggest fan, Brandon, says, "Andrea lives life the way that God intended us to - caring for others and making sure the world will be a better place having had her in it."

Chicago's Jewish community in 10 years:

Fruitful and multiplying. This is such a wonderful city to raise a family in, with great social opportunities. People are friendly and outgoing and personable. I keep meeting more Jewish women of my generation and seeing the amazing changes they are making in Chicago, and I’m so proud of them.
