Alan Goodis

Alan Goodis is dedicated to building a harmonious Jewish community. An experienced Jewish songleader, he moved from his native Canada to Chicago with just a political science degree and the hope that he could make a living in Jewish music. Turns out yes -- he could.

A national touring musician and songwriter, Alan plays about 150 dates each year, serving as an artist-in-residence and performer at synagogues, youth conventions and Jewish summer camps. He brings fresh ideas to worship and communal experiences, helping people to connect to Judaism and Jewish tradition.

When not on the road, you can find Alan at North Shore Congregation Israel leading services with the clergy and co-directing Selah, a group of teen musicians and prayer leaders, or bringing in Shabbat with style at Friday Night , a new Shabbat experience for Chicago young professionals.
