Jeff Ellman

Hireology. UrbanBound. HomeScout Realty. Humatal. Serial entrepreneur Jeff Ellman co-founded all of these Chicago companies. According to his sister Erica, who nominated him for Double Chai, Jeff, a graduate of Michigan State, has always dreamed of starting his own businesses.

"I thought he was making a mistake," she said.  "I believed he should work for a big company, get experience and then branch out on his own.  We come from a family of entrepreneurs so he was inspired from his surroundings and had a vision of what he wanted for his life.  He started a small company with his friend in a tiny basement office in East Lansing.  He told me he would prove me wrong and he really did prove me wrong."

Today, Jeff has helped over 1,500 people find jobs and over 12,000 people find homes in the Chicago area. He also volunteers his time helping underprivileged students go to college and enjoys making others feel comfortable at the Uptown Cafe where he volunteers regularly.
